To assist people in view of the situation arisen in the region after the recent snowfall, the Jammu and Kashmir government has set up control rooms in all 10 districts of Kashmir Valley. The government has deployed manpower and machinery to deal with eventualities that might arise in view of the snowfall forecast in the upcoming days. The staff in the control rooms have been provided with the necessary equipment required to normalise the lives of people in case of harsh weather conditions.

The problems of landslides, avalanches, and blocking of roads are common and frequent in Jammu and Kashmir during the winter season. Landslides often take place during the winter season in Kashmir. Almost every year the region is impacted by these problems affecting society in many ways. The control rooms, set up by the government, will help people deal with the problems during the season.
