Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, has asked the Union Territory’s general administration department (GDA) to advise all departments to update all government websites with latest information and content by Friday. He further asked the GDA to come up with delivery of “citizens” services’ via mobile application also to strengthen the public service delivery mechanism.

According to an official handout, the LG passed these directions during a series of meetings he chaired to review the functioning of Information Technology and Science and Technology departments held at the Civil Secretariat in winter capital Jammu.

The LG stressed upon the officers to prioritise e-Court programme besides updating CPIS and make it fully functional by December. He further called for 100 percent biometric attendance system to track attendance of the employees at the secretariat.

Mumu entrusted upon the officers to prepare a UT-led model for implementation of BharatNet to connect Gram Panchayats (village councils) across J&K through high-speed fibre optic network for taking up with the Government of India.
