Vaccine Maitri: Made in India COVID-19 vaccines reach Jamaica, Tajikistan, Belize

As part of its Vaccine Maitri initiative aimed to assist countries in their fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the Made-in-India vaccines have reached Jamaica, Tajikistan and Belize.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a tweet, “From the Himalaya to the Pamirs. Tajikistan receives Made in India vaccines.”
In another tweet, he said continuing with India’s assistance to Central America’s fight against COVID-19, Belize received the Made-in-India vaccines on Monday.
Jamaica has also received Made in India vaccines. The External Affairs Minister said in a tweet, "Caring for our Caribbean friends. Made in India vaccines have reached Jamaica."
Last week, India had dispatched 175,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to other Caribbean countries -- Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and Grenadines and Suriname.

COVID-19 vaccines, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Alfonso Browne thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonstrating an "act of benevolence, kindness and empathy" by sending 175,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to the Caribbean countries.
India has been assisting foreign nations by delivering Made in India vaccines.
The total number of vaccines supplied under the initiative has reached 461.66 lakh (46.16 million) doses, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava had said in response to a question during the weekly briefing on Friday.
Of this, 71.5 lakh doses have been delivered through grant, 288.4 lakh doses in commercial terms, and 101.76 lakh through COVAX.
These vaccines have been supplied to 47 countries and to UN healthcare workers as well, Srivastava said.
India's Vaccine Maitri initiative is guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement that India's delivery and production capacity would be used for the benefit of all mankind.
