Indian Air Force Chief begins three-day visit to Bangladesh
This is Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria's second visit to Bangladesh this year
Strengthening the close ties between the armed forces of India and Bangladesh in the Golden Jubilee year of the 1971 War, Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria on Saturday arrived in Dhaka on a three-day visit to Bangladesh.
The Indian Air Force Chief is visiting Bangladesh on an invitation from the Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force.
This is Bhadauria’s second visit to Bangladesh after assuming command of Indian Air Force.
He will be the Chief Guest at the Commissioning Ceremony on the occasion of President Parade-2021 at Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA), Jessore, said a statement from the High Commission of India in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This is the first time that an Indian Air Chief would have the distinct honour of reviewing the Parade of BAFA, which goes on to show the strong commitment and trust that both Air Forces have towards each other.
The Indian Air Force Chief is scheduled to pay courtesy calls to senior officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and will meet top officers from the Bangladesh Air Force.
He will also be visiting major BAF air bases across Bangladesh during the course of his visit.
The Indian Air Force Chief would also be paying tribute to the members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, who made the supreme sacrifices during the Liberation War of 1971 by laying a wreath at the altar of Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment.
Earlier, in February this year, the Indian Air Force Chief had embarked on a goodwill visit to Bangladesh where he had held discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral Air Force level ties with his Bangladeshi counterpart Air Chief Marshal Masihuaman Serniabat.
He also met with Bangladeshi Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed where the two acknowledged the strong bonds of friendship that the armed forces on both sides had forged during and after the 1971 War of Liberation and discussed ways to further enhance matters of bilateral cooperation.
During the February visit, Bhadauria was inducted in the 'Mirpur Hall of Fame' at Defence Services Command and Staff College, Bangladesh.
He is an alumnus of DSCSC and attended the 18th Air Staff Course at Mirpur in 1997-98.
