The Government of India has delivered the first consignment of components for 10 prefabricated steel bridges to Nepal, reinforcing its commitment to aid its neighbor's post-disaster recovery. The delivery, valued at over NPR 380 million, was made following Nepal’s request to help restore critical road infrastructure disrupted by recent floods and landslides.
The formal handover took place on Wednesday (October 9, 2024), when Devi Sahai Meena, Consul General of India in Birgunj, presented the consignment to Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, the Chief District Officer of Parsa. This consignment is the first of several planned deliveries aimed at supporting Nepal's efforts to rebuild and reconnect regions severely impacted by natural disasters.
